«Mensa Secunda» (2004) - мультимедийный перформанс на музыку Родерика де Мана (Нидерланды), специально созданный для уникального музыканта-виртуоза Хорхе Исаака (Jorge Isaac, Венесуэла - Нидерланды), 3х танцоров, видео и электроники. Спектакли с успехом уже прошли в Нидерландах и Великобритании. В России будет представлена новая версия спектакля. В «Mensa Secunda» язык музыки, язык театра, хореографии, пространства и изобразительных искусств тесно переплетаются, обращаясь к идее традиций и новаторства, постоянства и обновления, творчества и технологии.

«Дичь подвешена под потолком кухни. Она внимает голосу шеф-повара. Это Апицеус, знаменитый древнеримский повар. Он ищет идеальный рецепт... идеальный рецепт наслаждения... Вкусом этого таинственного блюда Апицеус готов поделиться, но не самим рецептом.... В экстазе он режет самого себя... Кровь на вкус сладка, горька и идеальна: в самом себе Апицеус находит то, что искал! В нем самом и есть искомые ингредиенты. Однако Магирус хочет овладеть этим рецептом. Однажды он пробует загадочное блюдо и превращается в Апицеуса... История бесконечна… Рождается новый Апицеус - появится и новый Магирус».

Хорхе Исаак (1974, Каракас) закончил Амстердамскую Консерваторию в классе проф. Вальтера ван Хауве в 2000 году как блок-флейтист и аспирантуру (2002) в классе Йоса Званенбурга по специальности «исполнительство и живая электроника».

Хорхе Исаак специализируется на современной музыке и использовании живой электроники. Он - обладатель почетных премий международных конкурсов в области современной музыки, таких как International Gaudeamus Interpreters Competition (2001, Нидерланды) и Krzystof Penderecki International Competition (Польша, 2002). Хорхе Исаак регулярно выступает с сольными концертами в Нидерландах, Германии, Англии, Бельгии, Ирландии, Польше, Норвегии, Швейцарии, Италии, Финляндии, Украине, Мексике и Венесуэле. Его выступления транслировались различными телевизионными и радиостанциями, такими как Hessen Radio (HR4) в Германии, Shell (Мексика / Нидерланды), Teldec (Германия).

Хорхе Исаак сотрудничает с престижными голландскими коллективами, такими как ASKO & Schoenberg Ensemble, the Dutch Chamber Orchestra, The National Dutch Ballet, The Dutch Opera, режиссером Пьером Ауди, виолончелисткой Францес-Мари Уитти, композиторами Дьёрдем Лигети, Родериком де Маном, Юкка Тинсу, дирижером Райнбертом де Леу.

В настоящий момент Хорхе Исаак занят подготовкой нескольких сольных программ, исследованиями в области мультимедиа и продюсированием мультидисциплинарных перформансов в сотрудничестве с Visisonor Media Productions.
В России музыкант гастролирует впервые.

Information on MENSA SECUNDA
MENSA SECUNDA is a circular story of obsession and transformation. The story follows the obsession of a chef, the musician character, and its desperate search for the perfect recipe. The musician is likened to that of a the notable Roman chef "Apicius", playing whit his ingredients and driven crazy by desire. He tastes herbs and obsessively repeats a recipe in Latin as a depiction of his obsession in finding the perfect recipe. Sometimes the words he recites are barely audible and become a musical texture merging the rest of the sound scope. The musician combines his instrument playing with a concealed manipulation of electronic tools.
MENSA SECUNDA combines music, theatre, video and live-electronics. The music was composed following a dramaturgy and it is built in three layers: tape music which provides a constant and rich background, live blockflute playing explores all the range and textual possibilities of the instrument with remarkable ease, and live-electronics sounds controlled/produced by the instrumental playing and physical movement of the musician, making use of computer software (Max/MSP & LiSA) and a wireless sensor's system (the BodySynth).
The voice of the chef, along with the sounds produced by chopping and chewing are combined with sounds of pots falling, knives and water boiling. This complex soundscape evokes a dark world of desire, obsession and the search for the perfect recipe. The scenes and their sequence will follow the courses of the Roman meal: Lustratio, washing and opening, II Gustatio, Aperitief, III Mensa Prima, first main course, IV Lustratio, washing, V Mensa Secunda, dessert with wine. VI Lustratio, washing and coda. Mensa Secunda is the scene in which the know of the story will be resolved. Apicius is unaware of the fact that he will be served as the dessert with wine…
MENSA SECUNDA was originally produced for a 60 min. multidisciplinary show, performed by one musician and 3 dancers. The music and concept has been adapted for one musician and video.

Jorge Isaac (b. 1974, Caracas) completed his professional training under the tutelage of Walter van Hauwe at the Amsterdam Conservatory in 2000. In 2002 received his master degree on contemporary performance & live electronics with Jos Zwaanenburg at the same institution.
Isaac’s specialist field is in contemporary music and the use of live electronics. He has won prices at renowned contemporary music competitions such as the International Gaudeamus Interpreters Competition 2001 in The Netherlands and the Krzysztof Penderecki International Competition of Contemporary Music in Poland. As a soloist, Isaac has given a variety of performances in The Netherlands, Germany, England, Belgium, Ireland, Poland, Norway, Switzerland, Italy, Finland, Ukraine, Mexico and Venezuela. He has participated in varied recording productions, such as radio broadcasts for the Hessen’s radio (HR4) in Germany, the company Shell (Mexico/ The Netherlands), Teldec (Germany), blockflute samplers in the USA, and his own music together with pianist/composer Elik Alvarez (Venezuela).
Jorge Isaac has performed together with the Dutch ensembles - ASKO & Schoenberg, the Dutch Chamber Orchestra, The National Dutch Ballet, The Dutch Opera, regisseur Pierre Audi, blockflute player Walter van Hauwe, cellist Frances-Marie Uitti, composer György Ligeti, Roderik de Man, Jukka Tiensuu; and the conductor Reinbert de Leeuw.
He is at the moment involved with solo recitals, multimedia research projects, and in the production of multidisciplinary performances together with Visisonor Media Productions.
